A couple of days ago I walked out of my back door to find a grim scene awaiting me. Flooding water, copious amounts of toilet paper and (I imagine) matter closely associated with said toilet paper. Anyway, an obviously blocked drain area was the cause. I did a quick Google search and the first local company to me was ‘Clear Rod’, with one solitary Google rating and review. It was a good rating and review too, which led me to think they may have written it themselves? Anyway, I needed the problem dealt with and so I decided to call them. This is what happened…
A courteous and friendly telephone response. It absolutely sounded like something they could deal and, after being quoted a very reasonable rate, they said they would send someone round soon.
Someone arrived soon! A personable and affable chap who got straight to work.
Thirty minutes later the job was completed. Not only did I get a thorough explanation as to what had caused the problem (roots growing in the drain etc) but the whole area had been cleaned – you wouldn’t have known the blockage had occurred.
I was charged the quoted very reasonable rate and I thanked the chap for a job well done. As he left, he gave me their card. I thanked him again and said I’ll stick it on our fridge. “I mean this in the nicest possible way, “he replied, “but hopefully you won’t see me again.”
So…they had one review. Now they have two. Hopefully you, Reader, will use them and give them another, as I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Fantastic local independent company – we called them re blocked drains and back flow – very quick speedy response – extremely reasonable cost to clear and fix the problem as an urgent call out – we would highly recommend.

“I have today had the pleasure of dealing with your company. Firstly you have been recommended to me by my plumber.
Spoke to Claire who was not only polite, concise & competent, but had an engineer at my door within 30 minutes!
The engineer Dave was actually early & polite & competent, done his checks lifted the manhole cover etc (blocked toilet) & basically flushed it a few times which appears to have resolved the problem (all within about 5 mins).
the whole issue was resolved from my initial call in approximately 40 minutes.
To conclude I am absolutely blown away by the all round excellence professionalism & importantly honesty that I have experienced today, and will definitely be letting my colleagues know & passing on your contact details.
Clear distinction between yourselves & the company that had today quoted £170 for the same issue!

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, two members of your team (Robert and Frank) visited my council flat to clear a blocked drain on the roof (which was leaking into my bathroom ceiling).
I just wanted to say how very pleased I was with them.
Both were pleasant, courteous and respectful. I was given a clear explanation about what work would be carried out. Once the task was completed (quickly and efficiently), they returned to me and confirmed that the job had been successfully done, as well as explaining the probable cause of the problem.
